I hear it ALL the time from my students--I know I need to do (fill in the blank), but I don't feel like it. I just don't have the motivation. Um. When did anyone ever say you needed motivation to do something? Many people enter into the acting profession because it is "fun." And I agree with this 100%! It IS fun! It should be fun! But you know what? Sometimes it's not fun. Sometimes I don't want to memorize lines. Sometimes I don't want to do my taxes. Sometimes I don't want to send that self pitch. But as Mel Robbins mentions in her Ted Talk, "It's your job to make yourself do the crap you don't want to do." You must FORCE yourself to: Get out of your head. Get past your feelings. Get outside your comfort zone. Oh, AND: Start by setting your alarm for 30 minutes earlier than usual and not hitting the snooze button. The effort required to leave that warm bed and enter the world is the same amount of effort needed to shake up your life and make that elusive change.

Tools and ResourcesYou are probably wondering this blog is about. Well, it's about anything that everything that I find inspiring, helpful, and curiosity building.
Curiosity is my favorite state of being, and I've become a treasure hunter and a trash hoarder, collecting all sorts of articles, artwork, and accessories that fuel my inspiration and creativity.
This will also be a place for me to document my life as an actor and coach in Los Angeles. If performing is your passion, I hope that this blog becomes a place for you to learn from my mistakes, grow from my accomplishments, laugh at my witless choices, and share in this crazy, unpredictable, beautiful, life in the arts.
