This if from Steven Barker, Lecturer of Theatre Design and Technology at McDaniel College:
We are the theatre. We are the ultimate survivor. We are the oldest of institutions. We are older than the church. We are older than the state. We have survived every plague; although we may {have} had to close for a bit. We have survived conservative regimes and institutional religious oppression, which are worse than most plagues. We are the Phoenix and we will rise again. Wash your hands. Sleep. Enjoy time with the loved ones that normally we lament not having because “I have rehearsal.” Use technology to stay connected. Use this moment to evolve our art both on/back stage and in classroom. Write that scene/play. Rehearse that monologue. Design that dream set/costume/lights. Learn CAD, or a new accent. We are not lost, only deterred. The muses are with us. They hang with Apollo, who hangs with Asclepius and Hygeia. So be a good Bacchant Priest or Priestess and pour yourself a glass of wine as our Lord Dionysus would suggest.

Tools and ResourcesYou are probably wondering this blog is about. Well, it's about anything that everything that I find inspiring, helpful, and curiosity building.
Curiosity is my favorite state of being, and I've become a treasure hunter and a trash hoarder, collecting all sorts of articles, artwork, and accessories that fuel my inspiration and creativity.
This will also be a place for me to document my life as an actor and coach in Los Angeles. If performing is your passion, I hope that this blog becomes a place for you to learn from my mistakes, grow from my accomplishments, laugh at my witless choices, and share in this crazy, unpredictable, beautiful, life in the arts.
